Dr Nandam - Cancellation Policy

Patients who attend a Telehealth Appointment with Dr Lawrence Sanjay Nandam will be bulk billed the appointment fee with no out-of-pocket expense.  If a patient is unable to attend their appointment, they need to cancel directly with Dr Nandam’s office via telephone, email or SMS no later than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment.   Cancellations and rescheduled appointments made with more than 24 hours notice will attract no financial penalty.

If a patient cancels their appointment after confirmation has been received and under 24 hours before the appointment time, a cancellation fee of $192.65 will be charged directly to the patient.  Cancellation fees will be issued on a 7 day payable invoice.  No Medicare rebate is applicable to the cancellation fee.  No further appointments will be scheduled until the cancellation fee is paid in full.

Patients are advised of our cancellation policy when called with their appointment details.  A text message is sent to all patients with a working mobile phone number with the appointment details which includes information of the cancellation policy.  Our system allows us to confirm if and when text messages are read, to confirm the patient has received the notification.

Dr Nandam’s process for confirming appointments is to contact all patients the business day prior to the appointment.  If the patient is not contactable, we hold the right to reschedule the appointment to a later time and date.  Every effort will be made to contact both the patient and/or their next of kin.  Every effort is made to keep the patient up to date and reminded of their appointment.

Cancellation fees are charged as we are not always able to fill the cancelled appointment.  The fee is comprised of the minimum consultation fee of $142.65 plus a $50 administration charge.  Dr Nandam’s office reserve the right to waive the cancellation fee in certain circumstances.  Dr Nandam’s office will advise the referring medical practice and doctor if a cancellation fee has been charged to their patient.
